TX Tax Free Weekend

We had a hard time wrapping our heads around this the first summer we were here.
Yup, tax free shopping.
All weekend.
On all kinds of stuff.
It's true I don't ever need another composition book or index card and I recently gave away two dozen spiral notebooks without even making a dent in the pile. But I did eliminate all crayons [church primary classes], markers [delighted next-door-neighbors], binders, tabbed dividers, lined paper and pencils. Up until they went to HS I'd diligently shopped every Target Back to School nickel sale or whatever and snatched stuff up on clearance, quietly filling the extra bedroom closet with school supplies we will likely never need.
Kids both in college now, I commend them on their frugality in repeatedly using the same tabbed dividers when in reality we had packages and packages, they could have been tabbing their classmates binders with pc personalization.
Shop this weekend if you need clothes or supplies, it's not only a pretty fair savings, most stores add to it with their own sale to draw you in. [Payless has BOGO and 20% off]
